Section 7 Course Calendar Details

Module 0 - Introduction.

Complete the following from Monday, January 9, to Wednesday, January 11. You may be dropped from the class if you don't complete the following assignments by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. If you experience any challenges, make sure to email me at heiko.spoddeck@pcc.edu before the deadline.

  1. Read the Course Syllabus, including the Calendar, by Wednesday at 11:59 PM

  2. Read the rest of our Course Information module by Wednesday at 11:59 PM

  3. Make a post in the "Introduce Yourself" Discussion by Wednesday at 11:59 PM to introduce yourself to your classmates.

  4. Fill out the Introduction Survey by Wednesday at 11:59 PM to introduce yourself to me and ask me any questions you like.

  5. Complete the WeBWorK Orientation to familiarize yourself with WeBWorK. Utilize the Math Prerequisite Help 1  link for support. You are also welcome to email me, join my office hours, or utilize PCC's free Tutoring 2 . This Western E-Tutoring Consortium is already available on September 26.

  6. Get a Binder for your Video Notes, Worksheets, WeBWorK practice, and Quizzes. You will bring this Binder to our Exams. If you will be taking your exams at a different location or at a different time, you can scan your Video Notes and Worksheets and submit them to the corresponding D2L folders.

Module 1 - Sections 3.1 and 3.2.

Complete the following from Monday, January 9, to Sunday, January 15:

  1. Watch the Introductory Videos for 3.1 and 3.2. Take notes that are helpful to you. Label your Notes and add them to your Binder.

  2. Read the textbook sections for 3.1 and 3.2

  3. Complete 3.1 and 3.2 Instructor Worksheets. The videos show every step to help. Label your Worksheet and add it to your Binder. You may write on your own paper.

  4. Post a Discussion in Module 1 and reply to one of your classmates

  5. Practice by completing the Sections 3.1 and 3.2 in WeBWorK

  6. Complete Quiz 1 in WeBWorK to check yourself how well you know the material. Write out your work on your own paper and upload your completed work to D2L. You may repeat this quiz as many times as you like during this week.

Module 2 - Sections 3.3 and 3.4.

Complete the following from Monday, January 16, to Sunday, January 22:

  1. Watch the Introductory Videos for 3.3 and 3.4. Take notes that are helpful to you. Label your Notes and add them to your Binder.

  2. Read the textbook sections for 3.3 and 3.4

  3. Complete 3.3 and 3.4 Instructor Worksheets. The videos show every step to help. Label your Worksheet and add it to your Binder. You may write on your own paper.

Module 3 - Sections 3.5.

Complete the following from Monday, January 23, to Sunday, January 29:

  1. Watch the Introductory Videos for 3.5. Take notes that are helpful to you. Label your Notes and add them to your Binder.

  2. Read the textbook sections for 3.5

  3. Complete 3.5 Instructor Worksheets. The videos show every step to help. Submit your work to the corresponding assignment in D2L. You may write on your own paper.

  4. Post a Discussion in Module 3 and reply to one of your classmates

  5. Practice by completing the Sections 3.5 in WeBWorK

  6. Complete Quiz 3 in WeBWorK to check yourself how well you know the material. Write out your work on your own paper and upload your completed work to D2L. You may repeat this quiz as many times as you like during this week.

Module 4 - Exam 1 and Preparation.

Complete the following from Monday, January 30, to Sunday, February 5:

  1. Review all your Quizzes and my feedback. Maybe retake some of them on your own for practice.

  2. Work through the Practice Exam 1 in WeBWorK and submit your written work in the corresponding D2L Assignment for extra credit.

  3. Ask Questions in our Q&A Discussion

  4. Review the Exam 1 instructions. You will find them in the module Proctored Exams.

  5. Exam 1 is held on the Sylvania Campus in TCB 218 on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4-6 pm. Please email me if you need more time for your exam or need to schedule it at a differen time or location.

    Bring your Binder to our Exam 1. If you are taking your exam at a different location or at a different time, scan your Video Notes and Worksheets and submit them to the corresponding D2L assignments.

Module 5 - Sections 3.7 and 6.1&6.2.

Complete the following from Monday, February 6, to Sunday, February 12:

  1. Watch the Introductory Videos for 3.7 and 6.1&6.2. Take notes that are helpful to you. Label your Notes and add them to your Binder.

  2. Read the textbook sections for 3.7 and 6.1&6.2

  3. Complete 3.7 and 6.1&6.2 Instructor Worksheets. The videos show every step to help. Label your Worksheet and add it to your Binder. You may write on your own paper.

  4. Post a Discussion in Module 5 and reply to one of your classmates

Module 10 - Final Exam and Preparation.
