Employment Quest Course Outline

Today's labor market requires application materials to be complete and professional. There are six (6) required work search units. After submitting the first three (3) units, Traditional Resume, Cover Letter and Reference Page students will be subscribed to a listserv and receive job postings. The remaining units do not require you to submit materials but should be completed for use during your work search.

Following is the list of work search preparation units :

::Traditional Resume
Develop a traditional resume. Must be completed to be subscribed to the listserv. Review text on this subject at Resume - guidelines. Review sample resumes.

::Cover Letter
Write a cover letter. Must be completed to be subscribed to the listserv.

::Reference Page
Develop a reference page. Must be completed to be subscribed to the listserv.

::Scannable Resume
Develop a scannable resume. This is not a required assignment for the course but we highly recommend it. Review text on this subject at Scannable Resume - guidelines and review sample scannable resumes.

::Portfolio
Organize materials into a portfolio. This is again not a required assignment for the course but we highly recommend it. Review text on this subject at Portfolio - guidelines.

::Interview Preparation
Develop a skill inventory with proof statements. Review text on this subject at Interview - guidelines and review sample questions.

Submit required work search materials to a Specialist from your campus (Cascade, Rock Creek, Sylvania).
