Day 3
Today is a day for birding.....
Our first order of
business today is grouse watching. Oh, did I mention grouse watching begins
at 4:30 IN THE MORNING!!!
So there are no pictures
of the grouse, it's 4:30 AM, I can barely keep my eyes open let alone take
pictures!!! I will admit, the grouse very pretty neat to watch, but did
they have to dance at sunrise?!? Why not sunset!!! Oh-well, moving on......
I do have pictures of our next stop, Wright's Point.
Melinda explains to us that Wright's Point is an example of inverted topography.....
Now, on to the Buena Vista Refuge for some birding....
Now we go up to the
Buena Vista Outlook......

Lunch Time!!!! We stop at Page Springs Camp Ground to eat lunch....
On our way to Diamond Craters, we stop along side the road to look at birds.....
Now on to Diamond Craters.....
First we looked at
tumulus's.....Then on to the
lava lake....
.....Amy found a lizard
...Then
we moved on to the cindercones
Melinda shows us a
lava bomb
and we find a cool plant, but Lynn can't remember what it's called
Now, our final stop
of the day is the Round Barn
