Week 1 ... Home ... Week 3

Reading 6
Homework: Week 2

Study goal for the week: Academic reading; Review literary terms

Tuesday:
  • Academic Encounters: Read Selection 1 and 2 again. Finish all of Reading Selection 3 and do the exercises related to it - pages 16, 20, 21, 22, 24 and 25. Review all vocab for Ch. 1.

  • Read the story "The Open Window" at least 3 times. Some vocabulary words are defined in the story, and some are highlighted. Look up these vocabulary words - try to translate them into your own language. What is the setting? Is the ending ironic?
  • Work on the Study Guide for this story. It is due NEXT TUESDAY. (We will work on this in class as well!)

  • Maybe on the quiz: All affixes from Affix HW 1.

Thursday:
  1. Read "The Open Window again.
  2. Complete page 4 in the Study Guide, "Paraphrases." If it's too hard - SKIP IT. The Study Guide will be turned in next THURSDAY. (This is a change.)

  3.  Academic Encounters: Page 16. Choose 2 situations from Ex. 1 on this page. Be ready to explain them in a group Tuesday.
  4. Also: On page 20, do Ex. 1 - in your book or your own paper, not to turn in. Complete A, B and C.
  5. Start the new chapter! Complete reading 1, page 28-29/

Study goal for next week: Finish your Study Guide. Work on Ch 2, AE.
