Currently a full-time faculty member at Portland Community College, where I teach English, Writing, and Social Justice courses, I received my Ph.D. in American Literature from the University of Minnesota. In previous incarnations I have been: a Web Editor, a Researcher, an after school program leader, and a punk rocker. I grew up in South Dakota and since then have lived in five states and one district (which suffers taxation without representation). In most of these places, I have taught and studied englishparticularly of the 20th and 21st centuries; particularly in an American context. Most of my writing examines how people use literature to do politics. |
