Readings
Complete the on-line readings as assigned. ( "Activities" do not need to
be submitted to your instructor.)
Homework
You should complete and submit assignments according to the schedule below.
All assignments should be submitted by Friday of the week assigned. If you enter the class late, contact your instructor to make special arrangments.
- WEEK 2:Confirm that you have reviewed your Grad Plan by e-mailing the instructor a printout AND a short summary of your completion plan (what you will do).
- WEEK 3: Complete a course Self-Assessment as described in class.

WEEK 4: Write a rough draft of a Resume.
Remember to include a "Career Objective".

WEEK 6: Write a rough draft of a Cover
Letter. Pick an actual job opening to "apply" to and attach it. Remember to focus on skills and interests.
- WEEK 10: Submit a draft Thank-you Letter. Guidelines are on the Follow-Up reading.
- WEEK 11: Mock Interview Evaluations are due (from the employer).

WEEK 11: Submit your Mini-Portfolio. A description of a Mini-Portfolio is available here. (No Class )
Submitting Assignments
Assignments should be submitted in class the week they are due. If you are unable to attend class, you have four alternative options for submitting homework to the instructor:

E-mail assignments to gknox@pcc.edu
Attachments OK if Office compatible.

FAX assignments to 971-722-8129.

Mail assignments to Sylvania Student Employment, Portland Community College,
P. O. Box 19000, Portland OR 97280.

If you are on-campus, you may drop off assignments in the Sylvania
Student Employment Office, CC 221. (Saturday class students may submit assignments
in class.)
Make sure your homework is marked "CMET 254" and addressed to George Knox.
Remember that assignments must be received on or before the due date. Late assignments will be penalized.
