Dental Hygienist CertificationsProfessional certifications are used to demonstrate a professional level of training, experience and/or ability to potential employers and clients. The following is a list of the most common professional certifications held by dental hygienists and other dental staff. As you attain these, list them on your resume, usually under a separate section called "Certifications". Professional certifications may also be use in cover letter, portfolios and even posted in an office/clinics.Certifications/Associations: Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH); X-ray certificate; Expanded Functions Certificates (Pit and Fissure Sealants, Temporary Soft Denture Relines, etc.); Local Anesthesia permit; Nitrous Oxide Class 1 permit; Limited Access Permit; First Aid and CPR certificate Memberships in American Dental Hygienists' Association, Oregon Dental Hygienists' Association, Student American Dental Hygienists' Association, American Dental Association, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, Hispanic Dental Association, Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities Equipment/Tools/InstrumentsUse the following lists to show the equipment and tools you have used and are familiar with on your resume.You may have additional technologies not shown on this list. List your tools in a separate section or under Skills/Qualifications.
