Readings
Complete the on-line readings as assigned. ( "Activities" do not need to
be submitted to your instructor.)
Homework
You should complete and submit assignments according to the schedule below.
All assignments should be submitted by Tuesday on the week assigned. If you enter the class late, contact your instructor to make special arrangments.

- WEEK 2: Complete a course Skills Assessment as described in class.

WEEK 4:Write a rough draft of a Resume.
Remember to include a "Career Objective".

- WEEK 6: Print out and complete the on-line
City of Tigard application.

- WEEK 8: In-Class Mock Interviews

WEEK 9: Write up a one page summary of an Informational
Interview. (Whom did you interview & where? What did you learn
about the company, the job, the career field? How has the interview affected
your plans?) You will find a full description of this exercise in the Informational
Interview reading

WEEK 10: No Assignment

WEEK 11: Develop a Mini-Portfolio for your Final Project.
More information is given in the Portfolio reading. Bring Mini-Portfolio to the "Jobs" Office (CC221) by the end of the day Tuesday. (No class meeting.)
Submitting Assignments
All assignments should be submitted at the beginning of class the week they are due. If you must miss class, you have four options for submitting homework to the instructor:

Attachments OK if Office 95 compatible.

FAX assignments to 971-722-8129.

Mail assignments to Sylvania Student Employment, Portland Community College,
P. O. Box 19000, Portland OR 97280.

If you are on-campus, you may drop off assignments in the Sylvania
Student Employment Office, CC 221. (Saturday class students may submit assignments
in class.)
Make sure your homework is marked "CG 209" and addressed to Diane Jantze.
Remember that assignments must be received on or before the due date.
