Crooked River Gorge

Crooked River Gorge
Crooked River Gorge displays a huge amount of columnar jointing on the side walls. Originally basalts flowed down the gorge, and now water has taken its place and is trying to erode the gorge. Looking to the west from the visitors center you are able to see a waterfall. There isn't much more information as this place isn't very spectacular.

From Bend travel north on HW97 for about 45 miles, pull off to the left on the south side of the gorge. From Madras travel south on HW97 for about 30 miles and pull off to the right. There is a parking lot and many picnic tables available.
