This page uses the YouTube player, but with Able Player controls.
If <track> elements are used for captions or subtitles, these take precedence over YouTube captions. Otherwise, YouTube captions and subtitles are used if available.
Local captions can be used to build an interactive transcript and can be used to search within videos using the data-search parameter. Currently YouTube doesn't expose specific caption data via its API so these functions are not possible using YouTube captions alone.
An advantage to using YouTube captions is that YouTube currently has an extensive set of user options for customizing the display of their captions. These settings are fully supported within Able Player if YouTube captions are used. However, users can not change their settings within Able Player. They must use a native YouTube player in order to do that.
For additional tests see the Index of Able Player Examples.
