The Blogger Designers

Garance Doré, one of the blogosphere's most influential people, has turned her hand to design for Kate Spade New York. The hip US lifestyle label is known primarily for its colourful, lady-like bags and counts Downton Abbey 's Michelle Dockery and Karen Gillan among its fans. Doré used to be an illustrator before she got blogging, and her just-launched collection of sweet blouses, dresses and accessories feature her drawings. Doré previously worked with Gap on a T-shirt range which featured her illustrations; in the past, the US giant has collaborated with big bucks names such as Mulberry and Roland Mouret.

Fascinated by the ever-evolving world of design, sources listed here are one of the best ways to keep up. From illustration to typography to packaging to a mix of it all, offered a beautiful glimpse of the strides being made among designers throughout the world. We present them here, and we recommend allowing yourself some time to get lost in each one. Elsewhere, Elin Kling, the Swedish blogger who has won a cult following with her daily outfit posts on her website, Style By Kling, is designing denim brand Guess's first-ever collaboration collection this autumn.

"I think designers are asking blogs to collaborate because they find certain bloggers are aligned with their aesthetic and bring something new to the table," says Emily Johnston of fashion news blog Fashion Foie Gras. "It also helps that some bloggers have more readers than most print magazines these days. It's a mutually beneficial project that results in exposure for both the blogger and the brand." Johnston was asked to collaborate with Coach, the handbag label which had Gwyneth Paltrow as poster girl. Her bag sold out instantly in London's flagship on New Bond Street and online in the US. 'I still get requests for the bag and asked when we will do another run."
