Helpful tips for completing listening comprehension assignments and making the experience more enjoyable:
Listening comprehension assignments can be very frustrating. You will not be able to understand everything that is being said, and the speakers will talk quickly since they are native speakers speaking at a regular rate. Don't panic and try these steps:

1. Before listening to the track, read through the comprehension questions and figure out what you will be listening for.

2. Listen to the track once without looking at your answer sheet and see if you hear any familiar words. This will also help you get used to the speed and sound of native speaker speech.

3. Now listen to the track with your answer sheet. Focus only on the information that you need to answer the questions. Remember that you cannot and do not need to understand everything that is being said to do the activity. The key is getting used to and comfortable with not understanding everything, which feels scary.

4. Listen to the track as many times as needed to fill in the necessary information. It is alright if you need to listen to parts of it 10 times! If you find yourself spending excessive time on the activity (more than 30-40 minutes), you have my permission to just give up and turn in what you can figure out. This is not meant to be a medieval Russian torture session, though it may feel like one!

5. If you have time, listen to the track once at the end without stopping it and check over your answers. Hopefully, you should understand so much more than you did on your first listening!
