Personal Profile of Samantha Stephens.

 

Samantha has extensive experience in occupations requiring exceptional communication skills. She has been employed as a 911 operator, which involved receiving calls , then writing incident reports using Microsoft word and basic text programming. She was also employed as a private investigator in a Portland firm for two years. Responsibilities there included composing advertisements, internal reports, and written documents to clients. Samantha has volunteered her time designing web sites and assisting in archeological field work in New Mexico.

            She has taken basic and intermediate classes in Web Design using Dreamweaver, and is familiar with Front Page. She has taken all the available courses in anthropology at Portland Community College. Course requirements included several word processed reports.

            Samantha’s future plans include a master’s degree in anthropology, a doctorate and teaching.  She would like to travel, via motor home, and do anthropological field work. In addition to this, she would like to operate a Web Site design business with her husband.

            Technical writing will be an integral part of Samantha’s career and academic goals. As an anthropological student or instructor, communication will be technical in nature. Necessary writings could include: applications for grants, reporting on scientific study, or technical documents designed for class instruction. Technical writing will also be an important part of  Samantha’s Web design business. Some types of writing could be customer communications, or advertisements.
