Emily Rigsbee—Website profile

My name is Emily Rigsbee and I have been going to school at Oregon State University since I graduated from high school. I have completed 4 years, but still need a few credits that I am finishing here at PCC to receive my bachelors’ degree. My academic goals are in the process of changing right now. My first goal is to complete the credits that I have left to get my current degree. My new goal is to apply to PSU to enroll in 2 upper-division counseling classes that are required to get into the graduate program there. After this, my goal is to apply to a specific graduate program at PSU and start working on my masters’ degree.

For my professional career, I’m not completely sure what I want to do, but I do have a few ideas. I think that I would like to be a counselor for people because I enjoy giving advice and helping people out. On the other hand, I might like to work in health administration because I would like to work in a hospital and with lots of people. Currently I just work at Nordstrom Rack, which is retail work that I don’t care for too much, but I need the money so it works for now.

The writing skills that I excel in most are the ones that I use in my everyday life. When I write, the best tool for me is myself. I like to be able to just write, and then read over what I just wrote to make many changes. After this I read it again to make sure that there aren’t any more changes that I need to make.

Currently, in my daily life, I use technical writing in school. In this class I assume that I will be using it a lot hence the title.
