Including his history and future in the workforce using technical writing

Ted is a student at PCC Studying CIS and Marketing. He has been enrolled in school for 6 years, which includes studying Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech for 2 years, studying computer science for another 2 years in a community college in New York.  While in New York at worked for an engineering firm as a computer systems specialist, and now he is at PCC studying CIS, hoping to graduate with an AS in CIS and a BS in Marketing. Along with quite the school history, Ted has dreams of opening his own restaurant. He is currently working in this industry now and enjoys it.

During his career so far he has had many opportunities to practice technical writing.  He uses technical writing almost everyday when working in restaurants to convey the information from the customer to the kitchen. He uses short phrases that are easily remembered and quick to relay when he is on the go.  Ted also has a history of creating web pages where he has to convey information in a well processed, simple, easy to read, clean and constructive manner. He was able to communicate how to use certain software and what it could be used for.  He was also able to describe new hardware devices and technologies.  He also used other writing skills such as writing letters, invoices, and appraisals.

During Ted’s free time, he reads novels, poetry, and mostly the newspaper.  Ted likes to keep up on what going on around him so he sees first hand how people communicate using technical writing.

As much as Ted has traveled the world, he has met many people, who he likes to keep in contact with. He uses technical writing to do so as well.
