Kris Laib is currently a student of Portland Community College.  He is one class away from receiving his Associate's Degree.  That class is Techincal Writing.  He hopes that by taking this class he will enhance his documentation skills and prepare himself  for a future in technology. 

Kris currently works as a Network Engineer for a growing company.  He describes his work as, "About the closest thing to my dream job that I could have."  At work Kris enjoys researching new technologies, interacting with clients, and helping others.  He is proud of his organization's goal to help kids learn at their optimal rate.  They do this by creating computerized adaptive tests.  There is very little that Kris would change about his current position.  Although, he would like a larger budget and a little less supervision.

While writing is not Kris' favorite pastime, he is required to write tecnical documents on a weekly basis at work.  He has had little formal training, but has found that outlining key points is very important to his finished products and does so when writing each document.  Kris also uses feedback and his experiences to continue to grow as a technical writer.

When he's not working, this busy student enjoys relaxing his new home, riding in his new car, and playing with his new puppy. Kris is currently trying to decide between working toward a Bachelor's Degree or a career based education in which he would earn certificates of mastership.
