I'm sorry I can't be with you for the first class this term. I had previously agreed to speak at a conference in Chicago. To make up for this, I'm including a bonus on-line lecture, The Quick and Easy Guide to Reading Essays. This will be a good warm-up for this class. Basically, WR 121 is about reading and writing essays. By the end of the course, you should have learned the basics of writing a college-level essay. You also will have had a chance to improve your writing skills in general and exchanged ideas with your fellow classmates. I always enjoy teaching WR 121, and I hope you enjoy taking it.
