THIS IS A TWO PART ASSIGNMENT
PART ONE
FUTURE BUDGET
Use information obtained from the Oregon State Employment
Division to estimate what you can reasonably expect to earn in
the early years of your career after you complete your education.
(How many ads did you find? Is there a possibility that it will
take several months to find a job?) Attach to the budget sheet
a copy of the ad or the information from the web. You may use
other published job announcements to forecast your future salary.
If you do, you must cite your source (include publication name
and date of issue used).
Prepare a personal budget for the time when you finish
school. Try to be realistic about expenses in the future. Will
you want to buy a car, or drive a more expensive car? Research
what to expect a mortgage payment to be, or use the classifieds
to estimate what rent will be on a bigger apartment or a house.
Will you have money for a house down payment or for new furniture?
What is your plan?
The purpose of this exercise is to help you make
realistic lifestyle plans, based on a realistic assessment of
income and expenses.
PART TWO
Check out a few more web sites on the topic of budgeting
or financial planning. Find one that you would recommend to someone
else. Write a review of the site, giving the web address and two
or more reasons why you would recommend it.
Remember to submit your assignment to the course
instructor via e-mail.
