Course Description:This course focuses on using current technology to create, revise and design business documents: letters, memos, e-mail, reports, minutes, simple instructions, resumes, etc. Students will use library and Internet resources to collect information. In addition, students will deliver oral presentation using presentation tools.

Projects and Assignments: Descriptions and due dates for projects and assignments are listed on the "Assignments" handout and on the web site. Additionally, all students are required to complete the assigned reading and participate in class. All written assignments should be submitted on or before the due date by e-mail, mail or in person. Late submissions will be penalized.
Grading: Point Distribution:
Grading will be based on a point system. The maximum number of points available in the course is 200. 

A = 180+ Points
B = 160-179 Points
C = 140-159 Points
D = 120-139 Points

  • Weekly Assignments (50 pts.) 
  • Group Project (50 pts.) 
  • Individual Project (100 pts.) 

Attendance: Students who miss more than one week of class will receive a "No Pass". Students missing class will be responsible for any assignments due and for any in-class work. Make-up work should be arranged with the instructor as early as possible in the term. An "Incomplete" will only be given for verified illness or emergency. Conflicts should be brought to the instructor's attention as soon as possible.

Student-Instructor Conferences: Students are encouraged to meet with the instructor during the term to assess their progress in the class. Meetings will be arranged individually throughout the term.

Accommodation: Students needing accommodation should notify the instructor prior to or on the first day of class. Special arrangements will be made as soon as possible.

Assignments & schedules may be changed due to institutional, weather or class concerns.
