Homework: Week 8

Study goal for the week: Give Your Speech!

 

Tuesday:
  1. Practice giving your speech! Deliver it to a tutor. Practice saying your speech at least three times. You WILL give your speech next class meeting. Be sure you have a good Outline to turn in (check last week for the form).
  2. Practice pronunciation! Use the Pronunciation Packet and read aloud: Page 1 ("What Makes You Thin?"), Page 3 (sentences A-F). We'll read these to Google Gocs and see how that does. Sign up for a time to read the pronunciation test: https://davinaramirez.youcanbook.me - please finish by next week.
  3. Textbook: Complete page 70. Here's the listening.
Thursday:
  1. Review page 71 - "Describing the Visuals used in a Lecture." Think about ways that YOU can take notes about pictures or diagrams you might see in a lecture. Take notes on the short lecture and complete the handout.

  2. Practice "Disagreement" language on page 74. Prepare a short presentation with your partner(s) for next class. (DON'T do this. Focus on your speech instead. Disagreements next week in class!
