Getting Started

Welcome

Before diving into tedious remediation work, it’s worth thinking strategically. The April 24, 2026 deadline may feel intimidating, but thoughtful, prioritized progress is better than rushed, scattered effort. There also may be new time saving tools or methods that become available once we can identify common issues. It’s better to assess, plan, document and communicate about what’s it looks like from your end.

Focus on

  1. Making the information in your course Perceivable to all learners
  2. Files that you author over publisher content
  3. Durable content that students actually use
  4. Finding the newest and accessible versions of information
  5. Remediation is really a last resort, and a new document made with Accessibility and Universal Design best practices will often be less work, more maintainable and better for your students.
This site was built with the intention of collecting resources and institutional information into a central repository and to provide greater context for digital accessibility in STEM specifically. There is more about this project on the contact page.
