Description

The SBM program is designed as the next step in your professional development. This non-credit advanced business education program offers the small business owner practical solutions to everyday business problems. The tools you learn here will help you solve today's problems as well as take your business to the next level of success.

The program is structured into two intensive 10-month programs. Each provides 30 hours of classroom instruction and 30 hours of individual business consulting. The class meets once per month for a 3-hour lecture. Each month, students make individual appointments with the instructor for 3 hours of individual consulting at their place of business.

Besides live lectures, the class features homework, group projects, class presentations, hands-on assignments and field trips.

Past SBM graduates have formed an alumni association. Their goal is to serve as mentors for new students, to be guest speakers and to host class field trips at their place of business. Alumni involvement will enrich and broaden the SBM curriculum. An alumni business was recently featured in the Portland Community College newsletter Communi-ties. Go to page 2 and scroll to the bottom. Look for the article "small business connections," by James Hill. You must have Adobe Acrobat to view  Communi-ties.
