Malheur Field Station
Located inside the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, Malheur Field Station provides a base camp for people out visiting and studying the area. Originally the station was a Job Corps facility, and in the 1970's it was turned over to a consortium of colleges as an educational facility. Presently the station is run by the non-profit Great Basin Society. Facilities include dormitories, classrooms, a gift shop, a day-use gym, and a wonderful mess hall, serving up a delicious variety of grub and slop.

Directions:
From Burns, take HW205 south for about 20 miles. South of Malheur Lake you will come to a dirt road with a sign pointing left to the station. Follow this dirt road east for about 3 miles, then turn south on another dirt road, the station will be about 1 mile down this road.
