G 201: Announcements September 29, 2009. Extra Credit Opportunity - attend the Clackamette Mineral & Gem Club's 45th annual Gem and Rock Show.  Take a camera and take some pictures.  Type up one page about what you saw, who you talked to, and what you learned (pictures are not part of the one page limit-can be double spaced though).   The show is at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds, 694 NE 4th Ave. Canby on Saturday October 24 from 9am to 6pm and Sunday October 25 from 10am to 5pm.  A map and driving instructions are available by clicking HERE.  There is Free Admission. September 29, 2009.  DUE DATE FOR ALL EXTRA CREDIT WORK is Monday November 30, 2009 October 13, 2009.  Change in syllabus.  For week 6, we will be doing the second part of lab 5 instead of the weathering lab. October 13, 2009.  Extra Credit Opportunity.  Attend one of the lectures given at the Department of Geology at PSU (either the volcano, wine and soil, or earthquake lecture), and write up notes and a review telling me what you thought of the talk.  To get credit, you need to turn in 2 things: 1) the autograph of the speaker; 2) a typed single page critique/notes.  The schedule for the PSU talks is attached HERE.
