English 195 Take-Home Final Fall 2007

By next week I'd like you to do the following:

1. Create ten exceptional questions for The Lives of Others, answer each briefly, and answer one at length. (200 words)

2. Select your favorite film of the term. Why was it your favorite? What is it about the film that gave it enduring power and significance? Point to a scene or two in the film that stick with you. Convince me that I should also consider this MY favorite film! (200 words)

3. Imagine that you have a friend. This friend is wondering why ANYONE would want to take a film studies class. Convince her/him that a course like ENG195 is worth the time, considering all the things that you've learned. Discuss at length two of the things that you’ve learned from class and from the readings. (200 words)
