Please answer the following questions:

1. Take a look at the excerpts from the Production Code (pp. 386-87). How do you react to it? Point to a few of the items in it, and argue why having a Code like that can be a good thing or a bad thing.

2. What were some of the key developments in the creation of the code, and in its subsequent demise?

3. Look at the two budgets for Appointment in Samarra (396-97). What are the differences between the two versions of the budget? How would these budgetary differences translate into differences in the final films?
