Module 1 - What is Tutoring?

Tutoring - what exactly is it, where did it come from, what kinds of qualities do good tutors have? These are some questions we want to consider in this first look at tutoring.
First of all, tutoring has been around for centuries. As a matter of fact, Alexander the Great was one of histories first tuteés personally tutored by Aristotle, back in the days of Ancient Greece! Aristotle was in charge of the entire education of young Alexander, not only his schooling, but also moral and ethical training as well. Today we tend to think of tutoring as an arrangement and relationship between two people that primarily focuses on academics.
