Russian classes at PCC Sylvania feature:

Winter 2009 class schedule:
In addition to our continuing first year and second year Russian courses, we also be offer a beginning level first year Russian course, RUS 150 . This course will continue in the spring as RUS 151. Students completing RUS 150/151 will be ready to take second year in the fall along with students who completed RUS 101, 102, 103.
A 2 credit culture and film course, RUS 261B Russian Culture, will also be offered. In this course ,
we will view 4 Russian films (subtitled in English) and explore the cultural and social issues presented in each film. This year's course will focus on Stalinism, World War II and the fall of the Soviet Union, and how those events have shaped Russian society and how they are viewed by Russians today. RUS 261B is conducted entirely in English, and no knowledge of Russian is needed.
Students registered in RUS 102 can also take a one credit First year Russian Conversation course RUS 111C that provides extra practice with the material covered in RUS 102.

Spring 2009 class schedule:
    In addition to all the continuing courses, we will offer a 4 credit Russian literature in translation course, RUS 241 Great Russian Writers. In this course we will read short works by some of Russia's greatest writers including Pushkin, Gogol, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Chekhov, Zoschenko, Bulgakov and Olesha. RUS 241 is conducted entirely in English, all readings will be done in translation, and no knowledge of Russian is needed.
    Students registered in RUS 103 can also take a one credit First year Russian Conversation course RUS 112C that provides extra practice with the material covered in RUS 103.
