Outlining

 

I. Simple (Sentence) Outline

 

A. List ideas.

B. Categorize ideas.

C. Prioritize ideas.

D. Make a complete sentence for each main idea.

E. Add supports:

1.   Abbreviated or sentences;

2.   Examples, quotes, details, etc.

F. Check outline for balance and logic.

 

II. Storyboards

 

A. Create a separate board for each main idea which includes:

 

1.   Heading

2.   Summary

3.   Notes (Examples, Suggestions, etc.)

4.   Visuals

 

B. Reorder boards as needed.

 

III. Document Specification

 

A. Describe the document in detail.

B. Use as guidelines, expectations, or contract.
