Introduction to Flash

Challenge 2: Talking Head (25 points)

Using Flash, create an animation in the style of the one below. (This one is partially complete -- be sure to make yours run the full length of the MP3 file (about 23 seconds), or use your own MP3 (at least 10 seconds).

The animation should contain the following general elements:

  1. The background and movement of the talking head should NOT be exactly like the one shown. Be creative.
  2. Frame rate and dimensions of stage are your choice.
  3. You can choose an mp3 clip other than the one I gave you.
  4. If you use the head and mouth parts I gave you, it must run at least 20 seconds (this is also the length of mp3 clip I gave you).
  5. If you use your own drawn head and mouth, then it should go at least 10 seconds.
  6. Must contain at least 2 additional pictures. Import all the pictures to the library and add to the stage as appropriate or draw these and convert to graphic symbols.
  7. When you add the song or sound file, be sure to stream it.
  8. The lip synching talking head should be placed inside a movie clip symbol so it can be independently moved around the main timeline.
  9. The lip synching should be as accurate as possible for the song you choose.
  10. Have clearly labeled layers.

Email the completed .fla file as an attachment to your instructor. It should include a subject like:
