on the image.

“Fit image to selection window” from the “View” menu.
10.Save,
close, and insert it into your web page.
Why?To
create links to various pages from within the same image, for example
1.Open
your webpage within FrontPage as a single page.(or
just open a new page.)
2.Insert
your image.
3.Click
on your image to select it.
4.In
the toolbar at the bottom of the page, select the rectangle, oval or polygonal
tool to create a “hotspot”.
5.Using
this tool, draw over the desired person or object on your image to select
that part.You’ll be able to adjust
the shape later.
6.In
the window that appears, type in the URL to link to.If
the file will be stored in the same folder, you can just type the filename.You
can also choose the button “Create a new page & link to that page.”
7.You
can click on the tab “Preview” at the bottom of the window in order to
test your links.
8.Save
your file, and upload it to the server using “WS_FTP”.
Why?Creating a small version of larger images helps your pages download much faster.Students can click on the thumbnail to see the full image.This can be especially useful if your page has a number of images, for example, works of art to view.
1.Insert
an image into your FrontPage document.
2.Click
on the image to select it.(Notice
the “time” listed in the lower right corner.That
is the “download” time for that page using a 28.8 modem.)
3.Click
on the “Auto Thumbnail” button at the bottom left side of the window.(Did
the download time change?)
4.Save
your document.Give it an appropriate
filename and title.During the saving
process, you’ll get a window “Save Embedded Files”.Both
of the images should appear (normal & the small one), and be saved
in the same folder.
5.After
saving, upload your file & images to the server using WS_FTP.
