Speechmaking Worksheet 2
The purpose of this assignment is twofold: to indicate how well you understand the theory behind speechmaking, as well as your ability to demonstrate how you will apply them to your speech. This is not an exploratory essay or research paper. Be succinct but clear. A couple of paragraphs to answer each question should be plenty (1a. is one question, 1b. is a second question). The total of three worksheets is worth 20% of your grade. Answer each question by a) exploring/defining/explaining the concept and b) explaining how the concept will be applied to your speech. Use your textbook (CITE!! Don't just toss in quotations, but paraphrase the ideas and summarize the concepts presented in your text. Simply using quotations is lame…you can say it better than the text) to explain/explore/analyze the concept. Try to use examples from your speech as you are preparing your working outline/after you have prepared your working outline to explain how you are incorporating the concepts.
