VOICES - POWER - CHOICES

The National Young Women's Day of Action is a grassroots campaign organized by and for young women. It is an opportunity to activate young women around a reproductive rights agenda that places reproductive and sexual freedom in the context of larger goals: racial justice, economic justice, and end to punitive immigration and welfare policies, the right to exist as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people, accessible health care, freedom from violence and quality education.

Each October on NYWDA young women from the Sylvania Women's Resource Center and from across the country raise their voices, take action and build a network of alliances. NYWDA provides student and community activists with the tools to raise awareness, develop coalitions and educate and activate our communities. In 2001 WRC Student Advocates organized speakers on Reproductive Rights. The presentations were made in a gallery setting with individually designed original posters created by students. Our goal is to ignite long-term activism and movement building. Join thousands of others in organizing an action that will empower your community! Contact the WRC and let us know you'd like to raise your voice for NYWDA.
