The WRC is a place where students can find assistance in identifying problems and resolution strategies and receive aid in accessing college and community resources. The WRC is operated by Student Advocates each of who learn through her experience of working at the center how to empower herself and how to teach other women to empower themselves. The WRC, through its programs and practices, is committed to increasing the campus awareness of oppression in all forms, particularly sexism, racism, heterosexism and classism. The program is designed to challenge these barriers which inhibit the advancement of women while it promotes a broader understanding of the diverse experiences of all women. The WRC delivers a continuum of quality programming
for all Portland Community College students,
staff, faculty and the Sylvania community. | ||
