Let Your Resume Do Your Job Searching for You!
Last month in PCC's CareerConections, five local employers viewed over 90 student resumes. Publishing your resume in the appropriate web resume book gives your job search more exposure.
Remember that there are a variety of resume books you can publish to. Some of the books have requirements, like specific majors, which are required in order to post to them.
Business Related Resume Book
Computer Related Resume Book
Education Related Resume Book
Human Services Related Resume Book
General Resume Book
Medical Related Resume Book
If you have been contacted by an employer through your resume posted on CareerConnections, we'd love to hear from you! Send your success story to moliver@pcc.edu.
For those of you eager to publish your resume, here are instructions for uploading and publishing your resume.
Using your PCC CareerConnections account, you can upload your resume onto the CareerConnections platform. This gives you ready access to your resume without it having to be on a disk or the hard drive of the computer from where you are accessing the Internet. This is helpful when an employer requests that you apply for a job or internship through the CareerConnections system itself. To upload your resume:
Log into PCC CareerConnections: https://pcc.erecruiting.com
Compose your resume in MSWord; if you don't have a recent version of MS Word, be sure to save the document as a RTF (Rich Text Format) document. Click on the Documents tab on the navigation bar Choose the document type in the Upload Documents box. Click Browse to select your document from your local hard drive or floppy. Choose the correct document and click Open. Click Upload.
You can also publish your resume in one of PCC's virtual resume books.
Remember that when you publish your resume and other documents, you are giving PCC Student and Graduate Employment Services/Co-operative Education consent to distribute certain information about you to potential employers for the purposes of employment. If you do not want employers to have access to your information via PCC's CareerConnections, do not publish resumes or other documents.
Log into PCC CareerConnections: https://pcc.erecruiting.com Select the Documents tab from the navigation bar. Locate the Publish Resumes section and click Go. View the Resume Books in the Additional Resume Books section; select which books you wish to publish to. Choose your Resume from the Publish Resume dropdown on the coordinating resume book entry. Click Save
Contact the Student and Graduate Employment Service office (located at each campus) if you need assistance in creating a resume. View an online listing of contacts and offices here

Hello everyone, I hope I didn't forget anyone--if you notice someone's email I might have missed please forward this message. We will have a PTK Induction letter-stuffing party on Sunday. We have approximately 4700 envelopes to stuff and if we want the bulk mailing cost break we'll have to separate the zip codes by hand--so we're going to need lots of help. I'm sorry that this day happens to fall on Easter, but the letters must be sent out as soon as possible. The envelopes and the address labels will be here (at Cascade) tonight and we have half of the letters to stuff. The other half is still at the Sylvania print Center (unless someone picked them up).
We can meet at my house, or a central location somewhere if someone has another idea. The more the merrier so bring friends if you can talk them into it.

Please encourage fellow students who are not signed up for CareerConnections or need some help using the system to attend.
