Follow these steps to get
started:
1. Contact John Mery
(Music Lesson Coordinator) at jmery@pcc.edu
in order to recieve permission to register for private lessons.
2. Select a teacher from the Instructor
List (PDF). These teachers have been approved by our Music Program
to offer lessons for college credit through PCC. If you are already
studying with a teacher and wish to continue and the teacher is not on
the PCC list, we can send application forms to him/her for potential
approval.
3. Contact the teacher to
arrange schedule and fees (payment is made directly to the instructor).
In
order to receive credit for Applied Music, you must all of complete the
following steps:

Complete ten 30 minute lessons or equivalent

Attend semi-monthly performance class held
Fridays at 1:00 p.m., CT 201
The first recital meeting is absolutely mandatory - anyone that is
registered and misses this meeting will be dropped. Missing any
other recitals will negatively affect your final grade
- Perform in a minimum of two
performance classes

Perform in an end of term concert or recital
-
Complete a music jury (Fall and Spring terms
only)

FIRST PERFORMANCE
REQUIREMENT MUST BE COMPLETED BY FIFTH WEEK OF CLASSES.
Non-music majors (MUP 100) do not need to complete step this step.
You will not receive credit unless all steps are completed.
