Welcome to the Portland Community College Music Program. We offer lower division transfer music courses designed for students who plan to major or minor in music at the upper division level. Courses are offered at both the Sylvania and Rock Creek Campuses.

The main areas of study are:

  • Music Theory and Skills
  • Music History and Literature
  • Group Performance (vocal and instrumental)
  • Applied Music Lessons

Our music curriculum mirrors courses required by four-year institutions. Students planning to transfer should consult the receiving institution regarding the specific transferability and application of course credit.

Our courses are intended to be of interest to all students.
