Descriptive Essay

There are many great places to go in Portland, but my favorite place is Saturday Market. I go there on the weekend when I want to listen to some music, eat international food, or enjoy arts and crafts. Saturday Market has great bands play a variety of different styles of music, such as rock, jazz, or folk. For example, I love to listen to "Grupo Condor" playing at the Saturday Market. They play great folk music from Latin American countries. I always know when "Grupo Condor" is playing at Saturday Market because I can check the calendar on Saturday Market's website. Another thing I love about Saturday Market is the food. Close to where the bands play is a food court. You can find food from Mexico, Thailand, Poland, or Asia. But if you don't like international food, you can eat a simple snack like popcorn. At Saturday Market, you can buy popcorn in many different flavors. My favorite is the caramel popcorn from Miss Hanna's, because it comes crunchy and it isn't too sweet. When I go to Saturday Market, I also spend a lot of time looking at the art, especially paintings. I like to see what artists can do with colors. Many of them can bring colors alive! If you don't like paintings there are also pottery, toys, jewelry, clothes, and other things to see and buy. Next weekend, go to Saturday Market so you can discover for yourself why it's my favorite place.
