Trick or Treat

trick or treatHalloween is a holiday celebrated in the United States on October 31st each year. Costumes and candy are traditional parts of Halloween. Children put on special clothes and they sometimes paint their faces or wear masks.  Many children dress in a traditional costume such as a witch, a vampire, a ghost or a princess. trick or treatWhen it becomes dark outside, they walk from house to house in their neighborhoods. They ring the doorbell, and when they door opens, they say “Trick or Treat!”  The person who answers the doorbell gives the children candy.  Many people decorate their yards with things related to Halloween, like spiders, cobwebs, skeletons, black cats and jack o’ lanterns.  Halloween is a popular holiday with both children and adults.
