What degrees and  certificates are offered?
There are 4 certificates and 1 associate's degree. They are:
      1 year Certificate - Landscape Services Technician: Prepares for entry level or crewleader position in landscape      construction or  maintenance.
      2 year Certificate - Landscape Management: Prepares for first line supervisory (crew leader/ manager) level position in landscape maintenance or self-employment in landscape maintenance
      2 year Certificate - Landscape Construction: Prepares first line supervisory (crew leader/manager) level positons in landscape construction or  taking the state contractor's exam and self employment as a contractor.
      2 year Certificate - Landscape Design: Prepares for work as either an employed or self-employed designer or assistant to a Landscape Architect.
      2 year Associate of Applied Sciences - Landscape Technology: Prepares for first line supervisory level positions in the fields of landscape maintenance or construction or can be used to transfer to a 4 year institution. Many courses transfer to Oregon State University horticulture program and the University of Idaho landscape architecture program

What's the job outlook for the green industry?
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts a higher than average growth for most sectors of the green industry
(landscaping, grounds maintenance, retail and wholesale nurseries) through 2012. PCC's Student Employment Services reports more job listings in spring than students applying, meaning that students have their choice of jobs in most sectors.

What is the average payrate for the landscape industry?
Pay varies based on education and field experience but the figures below are from the  US Bureau of Labor 2002 statistics:

First line supervisors, Landscaping               15.89
Tree trimmer and pruners                             12.07
Pesticide applicators                                   11.94
Landscaping and groundskeeping workers      9.51
Landscape Designer                                    20k- 24k/yr*
         * this may vary greatly if a designer is self-employed.
Asst. Golf Course Superintendent                 17k -25k/yr
