Getting an Account


 

 

Through the Instructional Media Services you can register for an account to one of IMS's different services. This includes a UNIX web/ftp account on Spot, a WebCT account on Spot, an E-mail List on the Student Web Server, or an Instructor Account on the Student Web Server.

Please choose the type of account you would like below:

  • Accounts for faculty wanting to use WebCT for a campus/classroom based course.

  • Accounts for creating an instructional/departmental web presence. Supports SSI, Perl
    Spot Web Page
  • Change Site Information - if you want to redirect your website link, or add members to a group
    Account Changes
  • Get web directory space for your class and students.

  • Get a class e-mail list for discussion, collabor ation, and correspondance.

This is SPOT, the academic server

What is a Server?  A Server is nothing more than a rather large computer with a tremendous amounts of file storage capacity that has a defined use assigned to them.  Spot hosts faculty, staff, and department web sites, as well as WebCT, an online course environment. The Student Web Server (SWS) hosts e-mail lists, as well as web space for any class that wants it.
