Business and industry can significantly
benefit from their involvement in the CASE program. Job
shadowing provides an opportunity for CASE students to find
out what it’s like to be employed in the “real
world” by visiting a place of business. Mentoring
allows high tech professionals to share their experience
and provide advice to PCC students who are interested in
or are majoring in a high tech career.
Guest speakers can give a talk on what it’s
like to be in an advanced technology career. Volunteers
have several opportunities to speak: in the CIS 100 class,
at a Brown Bag event, or at a CASE club meeting
The CASE Advisory Council has been created
because PCC wants business and industry to be directly involved
in the success of the CASE Program. This Advisory Council
includes business and industry representatives from Intel,
Nike, the Bonneville Power Administration, IBM and HP. The
Advisory Team assists with program evaluation and the continuous
improvement process.
